Nine-Year-Old Writes Music About His Doggo, Makes It To The Finals Round Of International Songwriting Competition

A nine-year-old boy has been spending a lot of time at home because of the pandemic. The boy spends most of his days with his doggo, and it inspired him to make some music.

Accordingly, during the pandemic, the boy also discovered his music in talent. With his talent and his song about his doggo, he made it to the top 10 finalists for an international songwriting competition. The competition was organized by Song Academy and the event is an annual one called Young Songwriter Competition. It is based in the United Kingdom and is open to all.

More on the songwriter, he is identified as Benjamin Magro. Accordingly, after an online class, he told his parents that he wrote a song for his dog named Chip. Per a statement, the song is a “very emotional” one that talks about the boy’s “feelings and attachment to his dog in the absence of friends whilst in isolation.”


The parents then made it more on the professional level by contacting SongSmith duo Dav. Jr. and Matthew James Borg.
