Earlier this month, Almost Home Charities decided to host an event called “Music to the Rescue.” The proceeds from the event will benefit the rescue animals that are under the care of BARC Humane Society.

BARC Humane Society is an organization that rescues dogs and cats that have been abused or neglected. They are based in Georgia. The organization has owed to give these animals medical attention and love until they find their fur-ever homes. During the “Music to the Rescue” event, there were Covington’s hors d’oeuvres and a cocktail reception. The music was provided for by the Valdosta State University woodwind quintet. There were also different musical performances throughout the evening from persons playing instruments like a cello, an oboe, a piano, and many more. Dance performances also entertained the event goers.


The proceeds reached more than $2,000 and a check was already presented to BARC Humane Society. The next event of Almost Home Charities is “BARC Lost Dog Found 5K Run/Walk.” It is scheduled in May 2. Those who want to participate can also register their doggos.
