A music teacher from Iredell, North Carolina recently lost everything in a fire. She was only able to save herself and was also able to grab her phone, her dog, and her cat.

The music teacher teaches at Coddle Creek Elementary School and in their Facebook page, they identified the teacher as Susan Halliday, whom students fondly refer to as Mrs. Music. There were a number of agencies who tried to put the fire out when it broke out last week. Firefighters declared that the music teacher’s home was a total loss after 45 minutes of battling the fire.


The teacher and her husband, plus their dog and cat, are currently staying with a co-teacher. It is unclear if the dog or the cat have been injured from the fire.
