It has been confirmed recently that a musical film about Toto, the dog of Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz” is already in the works. Warner Animation is the company working on the green-lit project.

According to reports, John August, will be penning the screenplay. He was also the one who co-wrote the live action version of the Disney classic “Aladdin.” The musical will be based on a 2017 children’s book called “Toto: The Dog-Gone Amazing Story of the Wizard of Oz” by writers Emma Chichester and Michael Morpurgo. This musical is a different angle since the flick will be from the perspective of Toto the dog.
It remains unclear when will it be showing in cinemas and who are the actors and actresses voicing the characters.
